Postby HankJ » Mon Dec 01, 2024 10:17 pm

 Allow a map maker for users and allow them to upload them on a site for other players to upload test and rate

Are you.. a troll?

no but seriously, the "map maker" is free, it's called Source SDK and is in your steam "tools" tab next to media and games. There's a "setting up hammer for HL2:W" tutorial here somewhere and i know a good Samaritan will come along and link it for you.

I think he was trying to suggest constructing a more average-user-friendly editor.

But yeah, Source SDK ftw.

Sander's mentioned the possibility of making a better large-terrain editor, but Hammer works fine and his time is better spent working on HL2:Wars itself :P

There is a tool called Nem's Terrain Generator. You can export terrains as a VMF, although it was originally built for HL1.

I think people want a very simple map editor for HL2 Wars that does not require doing a lot to put a simple map down with a few bits of altered terrain and putting down units and setting weapons with ease.
It's ok. You're not a bad person. Horses are bad people.
